Who authorizes the credit cards?
As with any website that accepts credit card payments, a 3rd party authorization gateway verifies each credit card before the transaction is actually processed. IONGate is the authorization gateway we use.
How the gateway works:
Like most gateways (if not all), IONGate keeps a record of customers' credit card information on their secure server so that credits, refunds or additional sales can be issued as needed. However, the credit card number is encrypted, so when we do issue such transactions through IonGate, even we do not see the complete credit card number of the customer.
